The Faces of Our Guests
Our guests are growing older and younger, and we see more women.
- 41-50 year old men continued to be the largest demographic segment, comprising 34% of our guests.
- But while most of our guests were single men between 30 and 50, 26% were younger than 30, and 22% were older than 50.
- 22% of our guests were women, a record number.
- 44% were African-American, 51% were Caucasian, and 3% were Hispanic.
- 11% were U.S. Military Veterans.
Homelessness and Education
- 41% of our guests had a high school or equivalent diploma.
- 36% did not graduate from high school.
- 21% had some level of college education.
Where Were our Guests Living Before PACEM?
- 40% were living on the street; an increase of 13% over a year ago.
- 33% were staying with family or friends, who could no longer afford to have them stay.
- 5% came from jail; 6% came from a shelter; 4% came from a hotel; 7% came from a substance abuse or hospital facility.
- 9% became homeless after incarceration.
