Bottom line? We need YOUR help to do our work.
The greater Charlottesville community that gathered in 2004 to address local homelessness believed that if we all work together we can provide the shelter needed by our neighbors in crisis.
There are many ways to help …
The core need to operate shelter is SPACE for either 35 men or 15 women to stay for two weeks at a time. Typically these are congregations located on bus routes or in the City. We’d love to be your guest!
Many hands make light the work of sheltering! If you cannot host, consider organizing your volunteers to serve dinner or perform other tasks in a host’s space. We’d love to have your help.
The act of sheltering requires mats, cots, and transportation – among other costs. All of it is cheaper than having homeless neighbors rely on emergency services just to sleep safely. Your sponsorship helps us make that happen!
Volunteer with PACEM
Our guests benefit from the rich social connections that our diverse community bring to our shelter settings. We also have individual and group service projects like laundry, landscaping, and room prep.
