CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — The Haven serves dinner to the homeless every night, but Christmas night was special.
Violinists played Christmas tunes to ring in the night. Christmas night also followed with a meal served by volunteers.
Jayson Whitehead, executive director for PACEM, says this is important to bring this to those who don’t have a home for Christmas.
“It’s very cold tonight and we’re an emergency shelter, so we’re offering food, shelter and a place to sleep tonight,” said Whitehead.
Whitehead also says PACEM’s impact is to give those who are most vulnerable a place to stay in the winter.
